Toronto Leaside Junior Wildcats triumph in U22 Elite Playoff Consolation Championships

Sunday, April 29, 2026. In a thrilling 2-1 match against the Bluewater Junior Hawks, the Toronto Leaside Jr. Wildcats U22 Elite claimed the gold medals and the OWHL Consolation Championship banner for U22 Elite. Fan-voted MVP, Isabella Lane, was impeccable in goal throughout both overtime and the shootout. Blake Givelas scored her second consecutive extra-time game-winning goal with an impressive shootout opening score, securing the gold medals alongside Izzy's shootout shutout.
After a tough playoff series loss to the Durham West Jr. Lightning, characterized by a 2-1 win and three narrow "one goal" (plus occasional empty net goals) defeats, the Toronto Leaside Jr. Wildcats went undefeated over the playoff weekend, achieving three team wins before clinching the Consolation Championship game.
