Wildcats Off to a Strong Start This Season!

The U22 Leaside Wildcats have made a fantastic start to their season, showcasing their talent and teamwork over the first two weekends.

The season kicked off on Saturday, September 6, with a home game against the Ottawa 67’s, and the Wildcats secured a solid 5-2 victory. The following day, they traveled to Waterloo and won 5-3 in a competitive match where the girls showed they can break a tie after letting some goals in.

This past weekend, the Wildcats participated in the Stoney Creek U22 University Showcase. They faced five teams over the weekend, starting with a tough 1-0 loss against NAHA White on Friday morning, followed by a 1-0 win over the Washington Pride in the afternoon, after shooting almost 50 shots on net against a strong goaltender. On Saturday morning, they secured a 4-1 victory against the New Jersey Colonials, and in the afternoon, they edged out John Abbott College from Quebec with a 1-0 win. On Sunday, they faced Lovell Academy and had a close game, ultimately losing 2-1.

The most impressive part of the showcase and the season start has been how well the team played together, with excellent passing, supportive feedback, and many scouts in attendance.
